Celtic Connections

Celtic Connections To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Rounder Records have produced a CD featuring new releases from their artists including the likes of Steve Martin, Béla Fleck and Dan Tyminski. We've got our hands on a limited number of copies to give away to the first people to buy tickets for this concert - book early to receive your exclusive copy in the post!

Founded in 1970 by college friends Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton-Levy, and Bill Nowlin, who shared a love of rural US music and “no record industry experience whatsoever”, Rounder Records is now America’s premier independent label. ...

Keegan Bray Are more events being added? I have these two empty days that are screaming for just the right shows; otherwise, I'll be forced to hang out in Edinburgh. Life's rough.

Why don't you let us know which days are empty and everyone can suggest some new music for you to try?

If you want to experience some traditional Scottish music whilst you’re here, you could check out The Songs of Scotland at The Universal on Mon 18th. You could celebrate Burns Night on Mon 25th with Pur – The Lassies’ Reply in the Recital Room. Or, for something completely different, check out a cappella group Naturally 7 on Tues 26th – who became YouTube sensations with this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF-KagTq7qY

Hi! Why don't you try the Opening Concert which will give you a taste of the festival. You could even take part in the Torchlight Parade beforehand. Hitting the Festival Club in its new venue, The Art School is a must and at the weekend you could try a new instrument at one of our workshops. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Look out for Pennoù Skoulm, performing at the Old Fruitmarket on 20th January. They represent a veritable Who’s Who of contemporary Breton music - fiddlers
Jacky Molard and Christian LeMaitre, flautist Jean-Michel Veillon, uilleann piper Ronan Le Bars and guitarist Nicolas Quemener http://www.celticconnections.com/whatson/event/90235-Pennoù-Skoulm-and-Marful-and-King-Chiaullee
