Helen Callaghan Thanks so much for the copy of Marcus Chown's "We Need To Talk About Kelvin"! I'll be reviewing on the blog next week!

I wouldn't say no to a FREE BOOK FROM FABER
To
celebrate the launch of The QI Book of the Dead - a biographical
dictionary with a twist from the team behind the brilliant QI TV show -
we've created a personality test that tells you which Quite Interesting
dead person you are most like.

Natalie Thank you Faber! I shall be loving getting into my new book on the long Tube commutes... :D

I wouldn't say no to a FREE BOOK FROM FABER Deep in the bowels at Faber Towers works a man called Robert Brown. He's our archivist and looks after rack upon bulging rack of the books we've published in the last 80 years. There are quite a few box files of correspondence down there too. Oh, and a big bust of T. S. Eliot occupies pride of place. One of the joys of... working here is talking to him about various episodes of Faber's publishing history. It seemed a shame not to share, so here's Robert talking about Ambrose Heath's austerity cookbook 'Meat Dishes Without Coupons' which includes recipes for delicacies such as, er, Crow!

Robert Brown, archivist for publishers Faber and Faber, tells me about a resourceful cookery book from 1940 designed to overcome the monotony of a rationed wartime diet. But some of the dishes it describes will be quite shocking to the modern palate!

I wouldn't say no to a FREE BOOK FROM FABER For all of you who emailed in for October's books, they've just been posted out, so do keep an eye out for the postman in the next few days ...

Have the October books been issued yet?
The status for the October books was published on 19 October at 15:13 ... and I emailed Faber at 15:20 but have not heard/received anything?

I wouldn't say no to a FREE BOOK FROM FABER Co-author of last month's featured book, A Matter of Life and Death, Alistair McGowan has done a hilarious interview on Christian O'Connell's Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio. Download the podcast (see link) or head to http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk to listen again.

I wouldn't say no to a FREE BOOK FROM FABER Barbara Kingsolver answers our questions about her spellbinding new novel The Lacuna
www.faber.co.uk
Barbara Kingsolver wasn't able to come to the UK for publication of her spellbinding new novel The Lacuna (though she hope to visit in 2010 - watch this space), so we did the next best thing - we went to her with our questions.

Lizzy Siddal Neither would I say no to a free book from Faber.

Neil Petts I love to read a good book, but have many to read already at the moment, so would you donate one for me to the RSPCA, as animals must be really bored not having to pleasure of being able to read a book (well I assume they cant :P ) thnx

David Woods I would say No to a book from Faber because I would feel obliged to do something for it. This would probably be in the form of a review of said book, which would mean I would end up reading the book, then doing six hours of work pre record, then recording the audio, being disatisfied with it, re-recording, doing post p...roduction work, and making a really nice podcast. Especially if the book had a scientific theme.

Katie Russell e-mail sent thank you! I wouldnt say no to a free book from Faber.

Katie Dray I love books, I love free things and I love Faber. So I wouldn't say no to a free book from Faber. Email sent :) .
