Filmstalker With the financial crisis Hollywood has lost a ton of regular investment money, something akin to 66% of the yearly investment. What does that mean for Hollywood and for the audience? Less big budgets? More smaller, independent films?

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
Hollywood is facing a financial crisis of the proportion that we've seen, and are still seeing, in the financial industry, and it's the financial industry to blame apparently.

Filmstalker A review of New Town Killers, not a great film although it does show some good moments and a nice story, as well as plenty of Edinburgh.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
New Town Killers has a lot of promise, it's a great idea filmed in a great city by a Scottish writer/director and a strong Scottish cast. Richard Jobson is the man behind the writing and directing, and ...

Filmstalker Just reviewed Law Abiding Citizen. Excellent thriller, definitely go and see it, not if you're a Jamie Foxx fan though, he's not so good in it.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
I'm a fan of Gerard Butler, and Jamie Fox can be good, although he can often be complacent in the performances he gives. The plot of Law Abiding Citizen sounded interesting, but it was F. Gary Gray that ...

Filmstalker Jurassic Park IV? Well it it ever happens Joe Johnston says that it's going to be leaving the old formula far behind. How could a new Jurassic Park work then?

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
There's been a lot of talk of a Jurassic Park IV, but nothing ever really happened, or so we thought, for Joe Johnston has revealed that he's read the story for the fourth film and it's a good one. What's ...

You can do other things with dinosaurs such as a movie where people go back in time to prehistoric times and have to survive in dinoworld but it's not Jurassic Park is it?

Filmstalker Do you remember The Howling horror? Well it looks like that remake talked about a few years back might be moving forward. It's up for sale and there's a writer/director attached. Is this a franchise you want to see start up again?

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
It was back in July of 2006, believe it or not, that a remake of The Howling was first talked about, and now it appears that there's an actual move to get the film made, and remake it certainly sounds like as the title is The Howling Reborn.

Filmstalker Jean Reno's back with a film that sees him kicking butt. Think Point Blank with Lee Marvin, or Payback with Mel Gibson.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
Jean Reno is set to return as cold blooded killer, a much nastier character than you might remember from Léon, Ronin, The Crimson Rivers or his money making Hollywood roles since. While it isn't his only ...

Filmstalker Dammit! When are we going to get to see Hideo Nakata directing his The Entity remake?! Not next it seems, but he's still doing creepy kids.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
News has finally arrived of what will be Hideo Nakata's next film, and disappointingly it's not his adaptation of Out or the remake of The Entity, instead it's news of a film called Voice From the Stone from a novel of the same name and adapted by Mark Wheaton.

Filmstalker British film is not all horror-comedies you know, there's crime comedies too, and Kevin Bacon has just joined an interesting cast list for a new one coming up.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
Thankfully there's some good, big British production news, this isn't a small budget horror film, oh no, this is a film starring Kevin Bacon, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Sophie Okonedo and James Nesbitt, the film is a comedy about a failed heist in a fish market. What's the title? Whole Lotta Sole.

Filmstalker The speculation is rife about J.J. Abrams project titled 500 Rads. I uncover some information about an area America have called the 500 Rads Test Cell, and I also think it could be about Chernobyl or the black market in ex-Russian nuclear material. What are your ideas?

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
Now I shan't over-hype this by shouting about J.J. Abrams' latest secret project, but what I will do is a little research into what exactly 500 Rads is, and there are two interesting things that pop up, ...

Filmstalker Another trailer for Brothers, the remake of Brødre, has been posted online and frankly it's not that great. Compared to the original it loses all sense of drama and just goes straight for anger and upheaval, not really giving time to paint the normal picture.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
A new trailer for Brothers has arrived online and I'm still struggling with how much of a psychological thriller it looks like from the outset, and how much of a bad guy it's pushing the Tobey Maguire character towards, something that just doesn't come through in the original.

Filmstalker Planet 51 looks an interesting concept, and the film looks like loads of fun packed with plenty of references to real life and the films about aliens and outer space, and this featurette gives us plenty of new footage.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
With the behind the scenes featurette for Planet 51 we get tons of footage from the film that we haven't seen before, and the stars talking about the film too. There's Dwayne Johnson, Justin Long, Jessica Biel and Seann William Scott with a hat I just couldn't stop staring at.

Filmstalker There's a promotional teaser on-line for The Killer Inside Me and it runs for almost six minutes, well worth watching.

Source: www.filmstalker.co.uk
A promotional trailer has arrived for The Killer Inside Me, the adaptation of the Jim Thompson novel which sees a small town sheriff who slowly allows the psychopathic killer inside him, a part he's been hiding for a very long time, out, and watches his life fall apart around him.

Filmstalker Remember I ran a Halloween competition to see Exorcist in a London graveyard? Well the screening turned out to be much more exciting than I thought and the two winners have given us a post-evening report as well as Orange supplying an official photo of the big screen event. Wish I'd gone now!
