Lila Waring I am glad that Freitag got booted. Do not like her she got some of her medicine that she dish out when she was a judge on chopped.
Tim I CANNOT believe Chef Freitag got the boot this week! I really wanted to love this show like I love Top Chef on Bravo, but apparently The Food Network doesn't have a clue! They really must be blind not to see her star power. Who cares who the next Iron Chef is anymore! Amanda was robbed!
Sarah Maul Not so excited to watch The Next Iron Chef anymore now that Chef Freitag is gone - it was my favorite show up until tonight. The Iron Chef show itself is already too male-dominated. Would have liked to see the gender balanced out a bit.
Matthew Kwong i sorta did not like the fact that this competition was on a slippery slope to begin with. it would have been nice (in an ideal world) if there had already been someone clearly qualified to be iron chef who'd been promoted to second female iron chef some time before the competition, although i don't know who. suzanne goin? feels like it woulda eliminated a certain 'touchy element' from this NIC.

I am totally shocked that Amanda got sent home! I thought for sure she would win it all!!! She is an absolute joy to watch in the kitchen...more so than any of the food network chefs! She's a hella better teacher [from appearances I've seen on other shows] and has an on screen presence that grabs your attention and kee...ps it, more so than anyone else and makes food and cooking so interesting and delicious. Umami is...Freitag! [haha] but seriously, I have no reason to watch food network anymore.Read more
Elizabeth Caines We so needed another woman Iron Chef. The gender scale if off balance. Amanda Freitag used a different rice ingredient for each offering. All of the judges including the guess judge enjoyed every dish. I have to admit that Mullen should have won. This was not a good decision and elimanation by the judges. I agree with Cindy Norton, this was a bogus round and Amanda should have stayed.

I was sad to see Chef Freitag go, but I guess the judges know what they are doing. Besides that, I was absolutely disgusted to see a drop of sweat hanging from chef Mullen's nose the whole time he was cooking, waiting for it to fall on the food. That it's gross and completely unacceptable from a potential Iron chef. Ge...t a hair or a wrist band to dry your sweat pleaaaaase. By the way I hope he goes next show...Read more

Are you kidding me Steve..I don't care what the make of the judges are, cooking is a man's domain. Just because a couple of woman are "judges" doesn't change that. I don't care who wins now. It's just a good old boys network and who cares! Amanda was the best and now we have to settle for a less than best male to be th...e next iron chef. At this point I say who cares...maybe if food network did some research they'd realize females make up a high percentage of their viewership....and by the way you can count this female out when it comes to Iron chef!Read more

I can't believe Chef Freitag got cut! She was the only one with any warmth, any humanity, any class! (I am really annoyed that the FN website hides its means of sending messages/comments.
