Robert, I agree with you. The problem appears to be a people of very devout beliefs, won't let other people believe differently to them...so we send troops to make them believe what we do? Every time a stray bullet kills an innocent child, a family of soldiers is born. How can you win against that?

I think this is a great idea for less fortunate Australians.

Theoretically, if a liquid (with viscosity close to water) that was able to retain a magnetic polarity was developed....all this crap would become a moot point. Read moreof AGHG's, then all of this would be the right thing to do (i/e renewable energy, ETS (or whatever they have decided to call it now), etc), but it isn't. With the extent of ecological damage that has been caused to this planet by our actions, it is equally viable that we have caused a reduction/dissipation in/of EVERY component of our atmosphere. I do worry that someone will actually be able to design the machine as defined by the "virgin earth" competition (except me...my theoretical design MIGHT work, but I am not going to tell them, in case it does). What would happen to the solar microwaves that are causing the greenhouse gases to resonate/oscillate (so as to produce heat), if they were to strike the planet surface unfiltered? I theorise the result will be three words "black and crispy"...
