The Australian Greens have written to the Prime Minister and Minister for Climate Change today proposing new action on climate change...

We have a tremendous opportunity right now to turn the defeat of the Rudd Government's failure of an emissions trading scheme into the beginning of a bigger, stronger campaign for real climate action!

A double dissolution with the Greens doubling their representation would be a lovely gift from the Mad Monk taking his backwards forwards against a gutless Krudd who wants to give our tax dollars to the fat cat's and their bank rolls for continuing to kill the planet. Vote GREEN!! Start with Higgins!!!

With its sharp right turn to Tony Abbott as leader, the coalition has left small-L liberal voters to back the Greens, sending a message to Canberra, Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown said today...
Senator Bob Brown
Last week we asked you to stand up for the climate and make sure Prime Minister Rudd didn't get away with his double speak. You rose to the challenge magnificently, helping the letters pages of Australia's newspapers fill with gems and inspiring us all to keep going...

Dany, I'm with you. I still remember watching it live & taking mental note of the media commentary & reports at the time. My boss & I at the time both said that we felt that something was very wrong with the entire incident. When various agencies, media & otherwise, began actively denying certain reports & statements that they'd made on the day, we both looked at each other in disbelief.

I've always maintained that something was incredibly shonky about the whole affair, especially given that only two things actually eventuated:

1. A whole new security industry sprung up world wide - what's more dangerous on a plane - a nail clipper or a cigarette lighter? I can carry a lighter, but not a nail clipper.... See More

2. We suddenly have a populace living in fear of bogeymen. Gosh! We'd better bring in some draconian laws to appease them & keep the terrorists away!

I still remember the first report in th US media from good ol' Osama which went something along the lines of:

"Woohoo! Allah be praised! BUT IT WASN'T ME!"

A week later, the media denied that it had ever been said - not that they'd got it wrong, but that it had NEVER been said by them!!!! That's when I became leery of the whole thing.

Thank you Bil, and to all of you for your comments. Again, I'm not here to upset anyone. I'm a strong believer in Freedom of speech AND freedom of thought. These forums are very valuable, and people don't get angry unless they care. So anger is usually just a sign of caring. I'm angry.. and trying to not be hostile... because hostility really ... See Moreshuts down the learning process. I'm directing that energy in the 9/11 Truth Movement which is gaining momentum at unprecedented speed. Thanks again to all of you who are not afraid to stand up for what you believe in and share your thoughts. I'm on Senator Browns fan list, because I do believe he is a good and honest politician. I know it's frustrating to have so many people in the world with uncommon beliefs and perspectives. if we can find common ground and find the points of agreement, then we can move forward. If nothing else, we can agree that the environment is suffering, humans are suffering and a lot of people are experiencing pain. For the first time in recent history, 'safe' first world societies are experiencing pain... hunger.. despair. I have felt guilty for many years over the suffering in the world, but felt powerless to change it. Since learning that 9/11 was not perpetrated by 19 guys with box cutters, a veil has been lifted. I believe that unveiling this difficult truth is of vital importance to the survival of the human race, and the earth. , I know the thought is upsetting. But it's the key to understanding. Don't shoot the messenger. Sincerely, Dany

I liked the Greenpeace campaign = "I love Japan, but whaling breaks my heart." I appreciate Japanese people and culture, but we can all agree that tradition is not sufficient justification for cruelty and endangering precious wildlife. (Just as it is not justification for the breach of human rights that occurs in many cultures).

Good luck Sea Shepherd!

Less money on helping dirty polluters.
More money funding important schemes that will actually benefit the future - such as renewable energy, the health sector and youth allowance
Youth allowance especially, as the govt. has cut funding to be financially fiscal - cutting off students futures in the process.
