The Age of Stupid
The climate blockbuster from McLibel director Franny Armstrong starring Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, asking: why didn't we save ourselves when we had the chance?

The Age of Stupid

The Age of Stupid Missile manufacturers YES, Manchester Airport NO.... these are the tricky conundrums we face every day at 10:10. See link for explanation. Did we make the right decision?

The Age of Stupid

The Age of Stupid Tories announce they will cut 10% of total UK Governnment's emissions (about 2% of total UK, I think) if they get in at the next election... First time 10:10 would be Gvt policy... Pretty amazing... Looking forward to Miliband's response - surely he won't let the Tories trump Labour on climate?

However, hard-hitting eco-film The Cove and Agnès Varda's acclaimed The Beaches of Agnès are included in Academy's 15-strong longlist for best documentary Oscar

Camden Town is officially out of chocolate biscuits, but it's a small price to pay. (Horror story coming: Ben saw someone who'd had their finger chopped off in Camden High Street this afternoon... where was Boris??)

The Age of Stupid Anyone in London have a) 4/5 days next week to help rescue Andrew our finance guy - the ups and downs of our finances have left him slightly swamped b) a day or two this weekend to come and join our website blitz. I would say that the web-site blitz describes the intentions to overload the airwaves with the live and (hopefully not) stupid broadcast.
Delayed DVDs? If Andrew's alone in the office sorting out the labyrinth of finances on a pioneering film with a multiple fund method, I would say its no wonder some postings delay (and am sure the comment will ... See Moremake it arrive faster;)

To the team: Crete is preparing for a pre-Denmark screening. I don't know how much we will raise but we aim to support at least part of your efforts. At the very least we will do our best to keep you warm!!

The Age of Stupid The police, fire brigade, footie team, schools, churches, mothers' union, chamber of commerce, allotment groups... the whole brilliant city of Stoke has got together to sign up to cut all their emissions by 10% next year as part of our 10:10 campaign. Absolutely totally mind-boggingly awe-inspiringly fantastic.

www.guardian.co.uk
It's an employment blackspot, its industrial might a thing of the past. So who'd have thought Stoke-on-Trent would be the first city to sign up to the 10:10 environmental campaign? By Jon Henley

The Age of Stupid Stupid's Franny fails to win "eco-hero of the decade", though she did beat Leonardo and James Hansen. And Caroline Lucas is a worthy winner.

Indeed, Andy - well put! Despite a handful of people around me still 'not getting it' or, 'staring at the small area of sand under their feet' (to quote P.P.), I can rest easy tonight knowing that every one of my 20 A-level students is heading off in the next couple of years fully 'getting it' after watching The Age of Stupid last week. ... See MoreImpressive responses to the film from them - well proud! I do remain slightly concerned that some extremely well-educated people remain oblivious to the facts and injustice in the world, so expertly connected in The A.O.S.

Got more feedback from workmates after two showings at Churston Ferrers Grammar School last week - Not only are a couple more Indy Showings now planned as a direct result of our showings, one teacher is selling one of her two cars (it's a start!) and everyone's talking about the issues. Some burying heads in sand, but they're in a tiny minority! ... See MoreI handed my head teacher his 'Not Stupid' certificate today. Amazing reception from my sixth form students - leaders of tomorrow?? One of our IT guys wants a computer like Pete Postlethwaite - Hmmm... not the intended response!

The Age of Stupid 11 of last 20 Stupid shares sold this morning - 55,000 quid in the emergency kitty. Fantastic. Anyone fancy owning a slice of the stupid pie by joining our crowd-funders? (You invest 5k and get a share of the profits) http://www.ageofstupid.net/money

Thanks for your suggestion Khaled. There are quite a few syndicates already amongst the crowd-funders. But I don't think your idea would work exactly as you've described it, as we can only make one payment per share as we already have 350+ bank transfers to make each time the shareholders are paid, so couldn't make, say, 100 transfers for just one ... See Moreshare. So if you get together to buy one share with a group of friends, then we'd make one payment to whoever you designate and then that person would be responsible for sharing out to the rest of the group. Which isn't quite what you suggested. If you don't want to organise that, but do want to support the film, please make a donation instead: http://www.ageofstupid.net/money
