Dear Better Place team,
We at MultiReach are facilitating connection between Taiwanese investors and manufacturers and Israeli technological start ups.
First of all I want to express my excitement and strong believe in the idea of Better Place.
Secondly, to ask what is the status of BP in Taiwan which seems to be ultimate place for adoption of BP solution. I also would like to suggest strategic partnership between Better Place and MultiReach to promote the solution in Taiwan.
Thirdly, One technical question / suggestion, with regards to infrastructure. You planning to set swap stations and parking lots equipped with chargers. But what about road emergency services which will be crucial? ... See More
And this is why, currently when someone runs out of oil in the middle of the road he or she can take an empty bottle, take a taxi to the nearest gas station and fill it there, then go back to his car and so on.
With battery this question will occur even more frequently that is why - now people are used to plan their refill every 400 km approximately and still many drivers find themselves with no gas in midway. The range of battery is about 100 km. meaning is, people will need to calculate more precisely their refill stops.
Now imagine driver who hopes to make it from Haifa to Nataniya or Herzeliya (about 100 km), the battery is almost new “almost!!!” and the hope is still there... But this driver finds himself with no charge in the middle of highway. What solution do you have for this driver?
Here is what I propose, to equip car evacuators, of the same kind like in Tel Aviv municipality (they lift the car and put it on elevated side stand), with swap battery system. This kind of car can be called to provide an emergency swap anywhere.
This service can be included in car insurance and bring additional revenue flow to BP. Quite similar to “Shagrir”
Hope this suggestion is useless for you and you have something better in place, please let me know what is it and what are your plans for Taiwan.
Cheers,

Sorry but your wrong....
The better place model is 100% renewable, Solar or Wind.
Australia's daily comute, CBD to work & back, is responsible for something like 20-30% of the CBS smog.
Secondly it allows the power generators to buy power off Better Place at peak load. Thus reducing the need to bring poluting generation on line to cope.
So it will have a huge impact.... See More
PS: I have no affiliation with Better Place other than thinking it is a briliant idea.

Don't forget the sound of the wheels - this is surprizingly loud. So don't worry. I don't think we will need extra tones. The world is loud enough already. Remember: Silence is one big advantage of EVs!
