Hosting the world cup would be a major boost to Britain's tourism, but financially speaking while by then the recession will be long over, the costing of events such as these are always done within a hairbreadth of the red. After all Euro 96 just broke even. so if we did get the football over here, mistakes like the ones made in 96 can't be allowed to happen again.
