Buy Nothing Christmas

Becky I wouldnt say Im boycotting Christmas altogether. I love Christmas. I just hate how it has become so overcome by consumerism. At any rate, this year we decided to make our own gifts. For the girls in my family I will be making home made candles, by melting the wax into pretty china tea cups. I will also be making cust...omized stationary. Im also thinking about a jar full of home made cookies, with a mini recipe book with all of the cookie recipes in them, or home made lip balm, or monogrammed tea towels. For the men, I will be making delicious flavoured popcorn, and putting it in a nice tin, and also a home made notepad. For the kids, I'll do candy, finger puppets, and for my daughter Im going to a thrift store, and filling a trunk full of costumes. Hats, jewelry, shoes, dresses etc. Every year I make my own decoartions. two years ago i decorated my tree with paper snowflakes, and bows. Last year I made sparkly starched string balls, and this year...well..who knows.
