Windows and linux are great operating systems as compared to the commodore 64 you can do so much with windows and Linux. Only down side are that todays PCs and laptops do not come with a programming language so people don't learn how to program a computer. People just click on icon and run some thing with out knowing how it actually does those things.

The Commodore 64 was the first computer i had, i got it for my 14th birthday in 1982 and to this day i still have it and it still works. Technically the Commodore was better than the ZX Spectrum (better sounds, graphics, keyboard) but the ZX Spectrum had brilliant games like Knightlore, Cookie, pssssst, Saber Wolf..., Jet pac which where never converted to run on the Commodore. Games which where converted from ZX Spectrum to Commodore 64 (Manic Miner, Jetset willy, Monty on the run) where better than their
Spectrum versions and shows how good Knightlore, Cookie, pssssst, Jet pac could have been on Commodore. Commodore V2 Basic was the worst I ever programmed in and was very slow. The BBC B had the best Basic followed by ZX Spectrum's Basic.Read more

Later on Commodore made Simon's Basic, this was an add on to Commodore V2 basic and was 100 times better and faster, it was as good as ZX Spectrum Basic but still wasn't as good as BBC Basic. BBC Basic was brilliant. Commodore 64 had 5 1/4 inch drives, printers and even a modem. Overall it was a very good machine and I carried on using it until Sep 1997 when I got my first PC.
