Jonas Nilsson

Jonas Nilsson HI! I want to upgrade easy peasy 1.0 to 1.5 but I dont know what to do:( please help

Alexander Holzinger

Alexander Holzinger I did an Kernel update and now easy peasy is gone. System only says ubuntu. Anybody got the same experience? How can I get back easy peasy?

Sergio

Sergio Is this a typo or what?

"easypeasy is *HARDER*, better, faster and stronger than what came with your netbook. "

Err... you meant EASIER?

Good distro. Not excellent but good.
WiFi button (FN+F2) does not work. This can be solved by installing Eee PC ACPI tools, or eee control, but it'd be nice if it worked out of the box.
Powersaving is not good. Again this can be solved by installing third party software (cpufreqd is the best, i've tried so far).
Startup... time is about 1.5 minutes. Its really too much for linux, imho. Haven't found good solutions for that yet. While messing with this crashed the system too times (reinstalling it for the third time now).
Now the question - after I ran update and upgrade last time I ended up with ubuntu 9.10 instead of 9.04. Deskto would not load. I only saw the mouse pointer on top of a clean light-blue screen. Am I the only lucky guy with such problem? If not is there any solution?.. Ah well.. I'll try to upgrade again after the installation finishes.. I'm so risky :))

Easy Peasy Vision for our Social desktop

The Do cell is like Gnome Do (Spotlight on mac). You type an app's name, it will start. You write a name, you can mail or chat with him. You write nonsense, you can google it. Press the Home button to start Do-ing

The top right cell aggregates all your online activity like Facebook, Twitter, chat, etc etc

AndE

AndE Would anybody else be interested in toggling between run level 2 and 3 (and stopping starting network related devices) via Fn-F6 hotkey - or is this only something I need?
I am doing it to speed up boot and performance and battery life cos I am not online always. But would be willing to share when I finish...

Corey Bender

Corey Bender Did'nt have a good first run at Easy Peasy. Burned it to cd instead of using a usb key! Did'nt seem to run very good on my AMD 64 notebook! Maybey it was a bad burn cause it seemed to run the same off the live cd?! I'm not sure I liked the look of it though, I don't like all that stuff on my desktop! My opinion though!

If you're gonna use regular mode, why use EasyPeasy?? Just stick with Ubuntu or Mint. EP's desktop is what it makes it special!!

Linus Ågren

Linus Ågren IMHO Easy Peasy is pretty much redundant when the new Ubuntu netbook remix comes out, it seems awesome and the new easy peasy is just bloated. I mean, come on, compiz effects enabled by default!? Way to butcher battery life.

They use the same generic kernel / base for the netbook and their desktop version. Their netbook remix is only a few cool visual effects on the desktop

Robert Tash

Robert Tash Has anyone found a way to keep your network connection from disconnecting when you are away for awhile. It's annoying to come back and findout that even though everything looks kosher, you've been offline for an hour unknowingly. Other than that, Love it!!!

Just posted my blog about how I am using easypeasy on the cloud - just incase it interests any of you. I tried to include the repositories I needed in each case - would be great if EP2.0 could do some of this stuff automagically. Anyway incase u r interested (also how I installed Tweetdeck which was not sooo easy but a...lso not sooo hard just tricky).

Ray Dale

Ray Dale Just installed on eeepc 701sd. Sorted out the Skype mic problem by
removing pulse audio (in the forum) and repo problem sorted by Sleepy,
again in the forum. Brilliant support from a superb distro. Previouslly
had eeebuntu installed - easy peasy blows it away for speed and looks.

Keep up the good work guys.
