One of the best games ever. Far Cry is an realistic graphic adventure, where you feel the hot sun and eat the african dust in really hard missions.
Lots of fun hours inside the skin of an mercenary.
Really disapointing the end. I didn't deserve to die in the end :P

Bought a copy of FC2 used at the local Gamestop for $14. Spent several times as much on new FPS releases -- all of which went quickly into hiatus after the few hours necessary to complete the solo campaign.

In contrast, I am still playing FC2 and am now on my fourth time through in a few weeks. If you accept all of the missions and unlock the additional ones, the game literally takes days to play.

Been enjoying the subtle nuances of the game. The attention to detail is amazing if one bothers to slow down and explore.

For instance, I recently discovered a message apparently from one of the developers to a significant other ( Veronique or Oliver ). It's in morse code and can be overheard every few minutes on the shortwave radio in the back of the supply truck in Mokuba. It is in French and appears to be a wedding announcement or anniversary (10/10/09) and is a declaration of love.

The AI is very amusing. Been keeping track of the different things they say and do. Some of it is hilarious.

The rapid re-spawning of enemies is a bit annoying as is the unrealistic nature of some of the weapons but this is easily overlooked in the context of the game as a whole.

I hope there is a Far Cry 3. I'll be in line for that one. Can't say the same for any other upcoming releases. FC2 has pretty much soured me on the heavily-hyped, linear FPS shooters that get all the attention. That pretty much tells the story.

I really like this game a lot! its freedom allow you to do whatever you want no matter if you do so at night or daylight. Besides, this game in Mexico gave me a real Jeep Compass truck for be the winner in a q&a contest on november last year....yay! Thank you Ubisoft!

Awesome game!! I finished the game on medium, hardcore, and I am now near the end on infamous. Playing in infamous (hardest level) is a real challenge. Take a bullet and you dead. Thats it. It forces you to think and plan your missions. You cant just run in guns blazing tossing grenades jumping around thinking you the man.. because you will get owned!

The AI is amongs the best I have ever seen. And the graphics... Stunning. I live in South Africa and the sounds and scenery in the game couldnt be more realistic. Its also very strange playing an international game and hearing the gaurds speaking in a language only we understand! Ubisoft really did their homework on this one.

I fail to see how so many people can criticise this game for its freedom. As gamers we have always wanted to be able to do what we want, how we want in a game. Far Cry 2 gives us that. I noticed there are comments regarding the vehicles and there should have been sniper missions etc etc. If you want more choice of vehicles go play grid. I prefer walking in the game anyway. Its far more exciting. As for the sniper missions... Far Cry 2 allows you to play the way that YOU want to. If you want to snipe then snipe. If you want to attack a fort at night with a silent MP5 with a dart rifle then you can. It is entirely up to you... If you want to go in guns blazing in the middle of the day you can. That is what makes this game so beautiful.

The gaurd posts are annoying but you can scout them from far away. Its also challenging to try sneak past them. Using diamonds to buy weapons and upgrade them is really cool. I Like the jamming of the guns as it forces you to manage and look after your weapons. If your gun jams in the middle of a fight it is only your fault.. No one else.

If you enjoyed the game as much as I did, still do, then you will no doubt love it online where it only gets better! Taking the fight online ads a whole new perspective.

Awesome game! Buy it now!

Great game, sure guns dont jam in a few hours but neither does the moon rise and sun set nor could you really be shot ten times and survive. On the plus side weapons jamming during gun play forces you to retreat and find cover or simply switch weapons and blast your way to safety, as does taking your malaria medication and injecting what I assumed was Adrenaline. Playing on hardcore provides the greatest challenge for the FarCry2 experience, around 3 shots from a sniper shoul kill you and shotgun blasts from behind will put you on the ground. The variety of vehicles and design of safe houses and guard posts could have been tossed up a little but you are travelling through a small world that wouldnt change so excessively from post to post. Character buddies and side missions are fun and the option to choose your own adventure (either meeting your buddy in mission for a better deal or continuing on with what you've been paid to do) is rad. I chose to blow myself up at the end of the game. Look out for the Gold Plated ak47s. I'd have preffered the animals not to constanty run into my jeep whilest driving though, magnetic animals maybe? And maybe some wild dogs or Lions, would like more Africa in the next game.
