Joko Anwar is an award-winning filmmaker from Indonesia. His first screenplay is the much-celebrated comedy 'Arisan!' (2003) which was hailed by critics and audience alike. His directorial debut is the box office hit/festival favorite 'Janji Joni' (Joni's Promise) (2005) which launched his career to an international ...recognition. Joko's second film, "Dead Time: Kala" confirms his status as "one of the smartest filmmakers in Asia", according to the highly regarded Sight & Sound Magazine which also named the film as one of the year's best in 2007. His third film, "Pintu Terlarang" (The Forbidden Door) (2009), is wildly praised by critics and audience. Now touring in prestigious international film festival.
