Dear Supporters,

Create the next profile photo for our Greenpeace International Facebook fan page, to be seen by hundreds of thousands of people! As we count down to December, we need all the support we can get to attract as much attention as possible to the Climate Summit in Copenhagen, and we would like you to help us!

The world's environment ministers will meet in Copenhagen this December to determine the fate of the climate and, consequently, the fate of the world. The ministers can either agree together on a fair, ambitious and binding deal or they can lock the planet into catastrophic, irreversible climate change. We need to do something now to prevent disaster.

We want to encourage you to participate in our own “Inspire climate action in Copenhagen” photo competition. The winning picture will become the profile picture of our Facebook fan page the week before the UN Climate Summit meeting in Copenhagen begins. We need to inspire as many people as possible to pay attention to developments at the UN Climate Summit and take climate action - and we need a Facebook profile picture that will inspire people to click on, and share, our Facebook updates!

How does it work?

1. Create the profile picture: this can be anything relating to the UN Summit in Copenhagen and climate change. A photo, a collage, a graphic or a painting - be as creative as possible.*

2. Upload your picture to your Facebook profile. Make sure you place the photo in an album that has the privacy settings of the picture on public, so we can see it after you have uploaded it.

(When you create an album, Facebook asks you, "Who can see this?" Tick the box “Everyone”.)

3. Copy the link of the picture and paste it here into the Note comment box.

4. Your job is done. Thanks!

*While designing your submission keep in mind that the photo will not only appear on the Fan page itself, but also as a thumbnail next to all of our status updates. Also it MUST be your own work meaning that you, and only you, own the rights to the image.

We will then collect all the entries and put up the top entries for you to vote on with the “like” button. The picture with the most “likes” will be the profile picture before Copenhagen.

The deadline to send your entries to us is: 9 November 2009

Requirements of the picture: Make sure the picture is no larger than 4 MB. You can upload JPG, GIF or PNG files. (Any offensive or abusive pictures will be deleted.)

Now give us your best shot and inspire climate action in Copenhagen!
