I appreciate the comments made regarding John's status, and would like to point out a couple things: First, engaging pornography is sin; agreed. Second, the neurobiological reality of porn is that it is an addictive "substance," per se. Is anyone really addicted to porn? Perhaps. But this does not change what needs to ...happen, which is the submission of all things unto Christ for His glory. As a Christian and as a therapist I hope that we can critically engage this pervasive issue with the grace of Christ that brings freedom and refuses to shame. May we take seriously the complex nature of this particular problem without losing the thread of simplicity that leads us back to Christ. Check out these sites, which you may or may not find useful:

Emily this last status comment reveals john piper's very naive understanding of porn addiction and addiction proper...the church and its leaders better wake up...most pastors are addicted to porn and lust themselves...and all putting a blow torch in front of someone does is get them to "white knuckle" it and that last how long people??? This is not grace my friend.
