Liberty Did you see Gary McKinnon's mother Janis Sharp & Liberty's Director talk about the UK's rotten extradition laws on the Andrew Marr show? Watch online here http://bit.ly/5JFdve

If the government continue to ignore Mr. McKinnon's case for being tried in the country he committed the admitted offences in, they open up the doors to everyone of us being arrested and shipped of oversea's, on the whim of a foreign government. For this reason alone we should all get together and lobby our MP's. The government claim it cannot legally intervene on Mr. McKinnon's behalf but, Nick Clegg has found out, from the governments own legal advisor that they can.

If Gary Mckinnon is extradited I hope all UK citizens of voting age will remember who was in government when it happened!

Re Jesse' ad: Not sure a 'Statue of Liberty' is much of a comment on liberty as a concept - sounds a bit pedestrian from the web blurb too. Why not dress it in orange coveralls, with ear protectors in addition to the blindfold.

Christopher, we have been living in a police state for a very long time, brought about by stealth and done by governments of both ruling persuasions. They rule the way they do because of fear and they would prefer us all to be too scared to get out of bed in the mornings.

Polite refusal to cooperate, and making a lot of noise about any and every further intrusion of the State, is the way to go. If we do not stand up for our liberties, such as the assumption of innocence, we will continue slowly to lose them.

Not giving the police notice before you demonstrate is a crime, but forced labour isn't. What a joke!

There is so much to do and so many government MP who do not care - I some of them at least did maybe legislation could move faster - In fact I do wonder who cares. So we really have 'us' to really campaign as much and as often as possible

yes we do need a second house we also need a government which is a democracy, a real one when we all have views to be respected, voiced our opinions have referendum this is our voices and we have to carry on to protect them, I think unlikefor example some African countries corrupted and leaving their people, children and babies die, at least as maybe our voices have been reduced we do have one.
Catherine - Let's use it.

I would still like to know who is going to oversee this reversal to ensure it actually happens! - Easy enough for them to side copy all info before removal. . . personally I wouldn't be trusting them one little bit and would like to SEE evidence of them complying . . . saying that delighted that this is happening.

You have a rather 'sinister' comment and is quite rightly this is obviously your right. Liberty has done a lot of very important legal work, they are a very active organisation which does not only deal with overseas disasters as Amnesty International but alo deals with legislation in the UK.
Anyway eacht to their own. Thre world was not made in one day. I feel despair sometimes but I cannot give it is in me
Thanks for sharing your points of vue anyway - Catherine
