I am sad it's over. But very happy I'll have enough money for Christmas now! I will save up for next year! Could there be a buy 1 get 1 free option from the start? Or get 10 for the price of 8 type of thing?! hehe.

went to see 'polytechnique' the other morning and it is a very smooth, graphic rendering of school shooting that happened in Canada in 1989, if you like 'Elephant' for it strange but true nature then this as equally as affecting, oh and 'micmacs' by jean pierre junet is a funny stylish comedy... long live the bfi

I am amazed that neither A Single Man, nor Colin Firth are up for any awards! What is it about recognizing one of our own? Too difficult? Colin won Best Actor at the Venice FF, and is widely touted for an Oscar. But on his home ground? Oh, no, that would never do! It is also high time that the BFI had a retreospective of his films and I am pleased that Tumbledown in being shown on the 3rd December. Now for the rest? A Month in the Country? et al?

Jon, youre spot on. Glorious 39 is a great movie with A fantastic lead perfomance from Romola Garai and it was a nice bonus that all the cast except Julie Christie and Christopher Lee were there for a Q&A afterwards - i think picked the right screen to see it in.

Jen not sure if you've seen this but there's a news update on the LFF's website, since the masterclass of Jen Daniels (the director of Precious), has been cancelled, they are doing an extra showing of Precious instead at the same time, on Saturday at 1pm, it has not been updated on the programme yet but if you call the box office maybe you can get a ticket to that?
