The Home School Foundation: Good cookbook, Great cause
Good cookbook, Great cause
Good cookbook, Great cause
Several months ago, I began planning my meals using menus. When it came to choosing the recipes, the Homeschool Kitchen was the first cookbook I reached for... even over my trusty Better Homes and Gardens cookbook! I like the fact that these recipes are real food -- not a whole lot of prepackaged short cuts. But they're also easy and unfussy.
"When it came to choosing the recipes, the Homeschool Kitchen was the first cookbook I reached for..."
We've tried many of the recipes. Here are a few that have become mainstays on our menu:
- Quiche Bites, pg 24 -- easy, rich, and incredibly yummy
- Layered Guacamole Dip, pg 17 -- no cooking required!
- Sloppy Joes, pg 84 -- wonderful flavor, not out of a packet
- Chicken Tetrazzini, pg 129 -- a different take on the usual chicken-and-pasta dish.
- Barb's Chicken Fajitas, pg 108 -- I didn't actually *like* fajitas until we made this recipe. The marinade is absolutely delicious.
We have many more recipes waiting for a chance to get on the menu. Good cookbook, great cause: what more could I ask for?
