Why the Limelight Party is only for 18 - 26 year old Equity Members:
Some of our members have enquired on Facebook and our website's forum about the reasons why tickets for the Limelight Party being held at the Shunt Vaults (London SE1) are only available for members aged 18 - 26. So I thought I'd explain...
The Limelight was created specifically for our young members to encourage that demographic to become more involved in the Union. We have plenty of older members who are active, but very few young ones.
Obviously we had to put a cut off somewhere or it would cease to be a young members’ party – the TUC, which Equity is a member of, defines young workers as 18-26 so we have followed their guidelines. The event has been lead by Equity’s two representatives on the TUC’s young members forum.
