Join us for the opening reception of Of A Surface by the Pick-Me-Up Artists' Collective
An exhibition of new work from the members of Pick-Me-Up Artists' Collective exploring surface and texture.
Opening Reception: November 13, 8pm
Exhibition runs until December 12.
Artists' Statement:
While viewing our past two show, man...y people commented on the wide range of style and medium used by our 18 (and counting!) members. Most notably in the work we have received from our artists thus far is the use of texture; found in photographs, paintings and sculptural work. Pick-Me-Up Artists’ Collective is having an exhibition with the simple concept of texture. Members are requested to submit an unlimited number of works resulting from their contemplation of this theme. Because it is a part of PMU’s mandate to cultivate ideas and expand our members current bodies of work, it is also requested that the artists create new pieces. These works will then be juried by a committee of volunteers from the collective and curated for the A1C Gallery space. We look forward to seeing the vast range of our members’ ideas and reactions to this simple and broad concept of texture.Read more
