Jay Dumire Just for kicks...try it mixed with root beer on the rocks. Blasphemy to some people, but sometimes, I feel like something a bit different than having it mixed with cool water poured over a sugar cube. Don't dilute the absinthe with water when drinking it with the root beer. 1 1/2 shots of absinthe in a glass with ic...e and top it off with root beer...MUG gives the best taste. This tastes great! Just a little something different.
Jay Dumire Absinthe is so very pleasureable...If consumed for pleasure and not 'effects'. I have tried many many brands of absinthe and I can tell you the ones that hype outrageous levels of thujone, such as that Zele Premium crap that my friend made the mistake of ordering for 200 dollars, taste like filtered dirty socks. Hist...orically accurate absinthe has been shown to contain only a negligible amount of thujone...you will get drunk on the alcohol far before you will get any noticeable effects from the thujone. Drink it, enjoy it, and say hi to the green fairy for me!

Jesse E Markham I've seen Buddha statues made of limestone or some such porous rock that dissolves with rain over time by design. Sugar cubes for absinthe should be shaped like Buddha in the same, er, spirit.
