I have mixed feelings about my tour this year. Many of you may have already heard or read that Dennis and I have separated after nearly a decade together. Of course, we're still speaking and taking care of the dogs and working together but our relationship is changing, hopefully evolving. And this will be the first time I have been out there on the road on my own...on my own. To make matters even more surreal, my apartment in Manhattan is directly across the street from where I lived when I first moved to Manhattan twenty years ago -and where some of the stories in the book took place.

But I am also excited because I'm pleased (more or less) with the book. We all know it's easy to make fun of the holidays and this is what I did not want to do. Instead, I wanted to show how even though I have had more than my fair share of crummy holidays, each one has also had a small but magnificent gift hidden in the center. And this, actually, is kind of how my life has always been.

Anyway, it's not a large tour this year, just seven cities. But if you happen to live in one of them, I hope you come and say hi. Here are the cities:
