Buy Nothing Christmas

Chuck Reinhardt
Gary Roberts

Gary Roberts i'm surprised there are so few members. i have now had 25 consecutive non-christmas's which accounts for more than half my life. i'm used to being called bar-humbug and scrooge december in, december out but i don't care. i feel totally liberated that i don't allow myself to get caught up in that ludicrous frenzy for 2+ months just so to "justify" overeating, overdrinking, overindulging. if you wanna do all those things you can organise it in a fraction of the time any day of the year. spend the money and time on yourself i say!

Stephanie

Stephanie We've tried this in the past, didn't go so well! We've decided who cares and everyone is getting a donation made on their behalf this year (except the little kids get gifts as Christmas is for them not us).

Sia K

Sia K ORIGIN OF CHRISTMAS IS SOME CORRUPT SHIT ITS FUCKIN PAGAN IF YOUR A TRUE CHRISTIAN DONT CELEBRATE THIS DAY.

Paul Ashurst

Paul Ashurst Buying junk for peaple who dont want it waste of time and money

Daniel Stewart

Daniel Stewart being a big fat Pagan, I'm totally on board!!!!

Iorek

Iorek i love that this is listed on facebook as a "consumer product."

Justin Wiebe

Don't worry it's ok to be a Jerk.

Buy Nothing Christmas
Ryan

Ryan Pretty easy choice when you're flat fuckin broke! HaHa!

Terri Wolfe May

Terri Wolfe May This is the second year that my family has chosen to give money to charity instead of buying gifts for the adults, and just get dollar store or second hand gift for the kids. Christmas is just as wonderful (maybe even better) and there's not as much stuff to haul around!

Michael Breton

Michael Breton I have a lot of stuff around the house I don't use, but know someone who would.

Plus instead of buying cards, I make intricate paper snowflakes, they double as decorations next year if you save it.

Michael Janda

Michael Janda Hi, I'm from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and I was wondering if there's anyone from Sydney who would like to be interviewed about their adherence to a buy nothing Christmas?

If you're interested, email me on janda.michael@abc.net.au

Rachelle Lasken

Rachelle Lasken And if you are going buy things only use cash. Boycott the corporate criminal credit card companies, ESPECIALLY CITIBANK!

Lindsey June Jones

Lindsey June Jones As hard as things are, I would give anything for just my fam to be
happy, presents mean squat. And more then that, it completely detracts from the real purpose of christmas! They have whole movies and stories that try to undo what all the commercialism
has done!!

Greg Costantini
Dave

Dave Free Hugs to all!!

Robert

Robert Thanks BNC for voucher link. I'll add it to the fan photos so its not lost as The Wall fills. I can't imagine adbusters would feel IP is threatened...

Etheridge E James

Etheridge E James Go beyond buy nothing, unshop. This means getting rid of things from your home. This may mean recycling, or donating to a charity. If you find little or nothing that you want to donate you can always volunteer. Try delivering Christmas dinners to deserving families or delivering toys for tots. Not PS/2 or an xbox, but more traditional toys such as dolls or stuffed animals. Not guns or other weapons of any kind please.

Robert

Robert I remember the "No Gift Certificates".. by order of the Buy Nothing Christmas Committee where you presented someone an don't buy me a present because I won't buy you a present CERTIFICATE/VOUCHER. Can't find them anymore. Have I lost the link or can a revides standard form be made?
