CTC - The UK's National Cyclists' Organisation Does listening to music while cycling make you a zombie?

www.dailymail.co.uk
Dubbed the iPod zombies, cyclists who are distracted by thumping tunes blaring in their ears have become the latest menace on Britain's roads.

Try pushing a pram or a wheelchair on a pavement and then have to contend with (as a rule) bad cyclists trying to force you to get out of their way. Laws are in force for a reason. I am actually getting the impression that the CTC believe that cyclists have the right to do anything and ride anywhere.

It's been a long time since I read of a a car driver was prosecuted for faulty lights or a cyclist for riding on the pavement. May be they do but they get no publicity about it.

I don't agree with cycling on the pavement but what about parking on the pavement. Where I live car drivers are always parking on the pavement surey this is illegal and should be stopped.

Can we have a poll of least cycle friendly newspapers in the next issue of Cycle? I just want to make sure I never buy one of them.

I walk to work and was almost run down the other week by a car completely ignoring the red light at the crossing, every other car stopped and the light had been red for a fair few seconds in this 30 MPH "limit".
I've never had a cyclist almost kill me, yes, seen them cut through the lights, but never endangering me.
I've cut through red lights, do it all the time when I'm walking, rarely on my bike, but it's really no big deal. There is a world of difference when it's 2 tons of steel and stupidity doing it.
