Changing Faces
The Face Equality campaign has launched! The campaign aims to ensure that people with disfigurements are treated fairly and equally irrespective of their facial appearance. Over the next 3-5 years, the campaign will:
Raise awareness of the facial prejudice and discrimination that people with disfigurements face every d...ay
Stimulate debate around the subject of disfigurement
Challenge society to change the way we all face disfigurement
Offer practical strategies for people to change their behaviours
Go to our new website www.changingfaces.org.uk to stand out and show your support for face equality by uploading a photo of your face to our mosaic of faces. Find out how to show your support, watch the film & see the nationwide advertising campaign. There are 'calls to action' for improvements in health care, education, recruitment practice, customer service, media portrayals & public policy. We're aiming for 100,000 faces by mid-summer, so tell all your friends!Read more

A new photographic exhibition at London College of Fashion, BEAUTY, is on display from Monday 7 to Friday 25 April 2008.
Photographer Larry Dunstan's 22 portraits reflect his interest in perceptions of beauty and explore its diversity.
Winnie Coutinho, Head of Campaigns and Communications at Changing Faces, said: "Crucia...lly, this exhibition is not about spotlighting people with disfigurements and other disabilities as a people apart. Rather, its aim is to encourage visitors to challenge their understanding of what is beautiful in a culture which seeks to impose an increasingly narrow definition of 'beauty'."
