- The government has declared its commitment to cutting UK carbon emissions by 80% by 2050.
-It will ensure British Companies are required by law to report their emissions.
-The government will measure year-on-...year progress towards its targets.
This is a truely massive victory for everyone that has campaigned with us since March 2007. Thank you so much for all your support, your emails, letters, postcards, the rallies you attended and the miles you marched.

Cut the Carbon
As part of the Global Day of Action on Climate on 6th December, the Campaign Against Climate Change are holding a demonstration in London. A march will start at noon at Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park and will go to Parliament Square. A climate protest bike ride will start from Lincoln's Inn Fields at 10.30 am: and will ...join the start of the march.
The demonstration has four main themes -
1) NO to a 3rd runway at Heathrow
2) NO new coal
3) NO to the expansion of agrofuels
4) YES to a renewable energy revolution and green jobs
Speakers will include Nick Clegg MP, Michael Meacher MP, Caroline Lucas MEP, and George Monbiot.
