THEY’RE BACK!
AND THEY’RE BAD TO THE (FLOATING) BONE…
West Bridgford’s beloved Dr. Comfort and the Lurid Revelations announce their first UK date of 2009. The six-piece are slated to play Nottingham’s Southbank Bar on Sunday April 5.
After a well-deserved six months break; the band feeling the pinch after extensive tour...ing in 2008; at one stage playing an unprecedented two gigs in 13 days. Tiredness, indiscriminate bowel movements, plus the usual excesses of the road were bound to take their toll.
A spokesperson said, “Well, what with ‘his lordship’ bowling all and sundry out in the Caribbean and the overkill of last year we thought we were goosed for a bit. But luckily, the singer’s elbow is tayter’d and the guitar player’s Deal, or No Deal habit is once again manageable. So we’re back at it.”
Rehearsing via satellite link all winter, Nottinghamshire’s finest rock ensemble since KWS hit big in the 90s, can confirm a new show, a new set – including some all-new original material - and by all accounts, marginally less on-stage swearing.
As they say, get there early to avoid disappointment.

NOT OCT 2, BUT DEFINITELY OCT 9...
Dr. Comfort and the Lurid Revelations, freshly returned to the shire of green and gold after this week's sojourn in the city, announce that they are to play a rearranged charity gig, originally slated for October 2.
Now on Thursday October 9 and in support of Walk the Walk, a breast ca...ncer and cancer care charity, the additional time means the band will be looking to showcase new material - that's if they can get their 'shit together', according to the band's long-time Los Angeles-based publicist, Emile Gofigure, "Well, that's what the fat one with no hair told me, anyhow." said the aging hanger-on. "With the corporate gigs backing up around Christmas time and the band's stout refusal to play weddings, this show could be the band's last hometown gig of the year."
As ever, get there early to avoid disappointment.

Britain's hottest unsigned band take another step towards world domination, this time in support of Nottinghamshire CCC beneficiary, AJ Harris.
Harris, a County Championship winner with Notts in 2005 had this to say on securing the booking, "I've been led to believe that they are some form of musical novelty act (pause......)- is that not right?"
At going to press, no one from the band's management company was available to confirm or deny the rumour.
