The Brong Ahafo Region is divided into 2 major climatic zones: the southwest sector, which lies in the rain belt, and the northeast sector situated in the savanna belt.

People in this region are Akans. They are principally farmers and raise important cash crops such as cocoa, cassava, yams and maize in addition to a var...iety of fruits. It rains about 9 months during the year hence the soil is rich and productive. Brong Ahafo is therefore often referred to as the "Bread Basket" of Ghana.

Ghana
The Ashanti Region occupies a central spot on the map of Ghana. It is a land of ancient royalty and centuries-old traditions. The capital, Kumasi, was once the nucleus of the Asante Kingdom and was the geographic meeting point of two powerful trading systems Ethe Sudanic Empires across the Sahara to the north, and the... Gold Mining Kwaman Forest Region which traded to the south with Europeans on the Coast. Established by King Osei Tutu in 1695, Kumasi was connected by royal roads and paths to all the leading provinces beyond the "Kingdom Of Gold"
Named after the Garden City because of its tree-line streets and public flower gardens, Kumasi has a special attraction for tourists because of its martial history and culture of the gold trade. One can reach Kumasi from Accra and other cities by air, but it is preferable to come by car, bus or rail in order to enjoy the tropical forests and picturesque villages along the way.

Ghana
On the south western shores of Ghana, nestled between the Gulf of Guinea and the Ivory Coast (la Cote D' Ivoire), in the Western Region and its twin-city capital, Sekondi-Takoradi. The nucleus of this thriving metropolis is a modern harbour from which Ghana's principal exports of cocoa, coffee, bauxite, manganese and t...imber are shipped to world markets.
These same waters which enable the Region's prospering commercial trade today, once, centuries ago, received European ships which arrived to trade with coastal forts for gold and slaves.
This striking contract contrast between old and new - ancient and modern - creates the unique and interesting charm of the Western Region. It is reflected in a variety of unique attractions travellers may visit: grom gold mines to the single gauge railway to fragrant rubber plantations.
There are also beautiful beaches, historic forts, popular cultural events, a village on stilts and charmed crocodiles, which will keep adventure-loving travellers busy for quite some time.
If your travel plans include a visit to Cape Coast or Elmina in the Central Region, then you are only one hour's drive from Takoradi via an excellent highway.

Ghana The Eastern Region offers a number of Ghana's popular tourist attractions, for its has a richly varied landscape of tropical forest, rivers and a great lake.
It is also the location for several of Ghana's major cultural events. In the Eastern region, the modern blends in with the ancient; it is so close to the nation's capital at Accra, yet can present such a contrast.

Cape Coast, the capital of the Central Region, is just about a 2-hour drive west of Accra. The region is famous for its ancient forts and castles, beautiful coconut palm shaded beaches and for a peculiar elegance of attitude which is recorded and celebrated in literature. Apart from Cape Coast, Elmina is the next well-...known destination for tourists. However, the Region is rich in other fascinating historic places such as Anomabu, Abandze, Komenda and More.Read more
