Ghana
The capital of the Upper West Region, Wa, lies within a vast savanna grassland. It can be reached by road from Accra through Kumasi.
Buses link the various towns and villages within the region's various districts. If you are looking for a more interesting, enjoyable way to explore Wa, hire a bicycle from the city.

The Upper East Region, located in the savanna grassland of Ghana, is rich in indigenous architecture and natural attractions.
With its capital as Bolgatanga (shortened to Bolga sometimes), the Upper East Region occupies the extreme north east portion of Ghana. This region is very dry. Upper East is noted for its cattle ...and cereals like millet, sorghum and rice. The area is also noted for its handicrafts and locally brewed beer known as Pito. The Volta Region with its Capital, Ho, lies to the east of Ghana, sharing borders with Togo. It is named after the Volta River. People in this region are Akans. They are principally farmers and raise important cash crops such as cocoa, cassava, yams and maize in addition to a var...iety of fruits. It rains about 9 months during the year hence the soil is rich and productive. Brong Ahafo is therefore often referred to as the "Bread Basket" of Ghana.

The Ashanti Region occupies a central spot on the map of Ghana. It is a land of ancient royalty and centuries-old traditions. The capital, Kumasi, was once the nucleus of the Asante Kingdom and was the geographic meeting point of two powerful trading systems �Ethe Sudanic Empires across the Sahara to the north, and the... Gold Mining Kwaman Forest Region which traded to the south with Europeans on the Coast. Established by King Osei Tutu in 1695, Kumasi was connected by royal roads and paths to all the leading provinces beyond the "Kingdom Of Gold"
Named after the Garden City because of its tree-line streets and public flower gardens, Kumasi has a special attraction for tourists because of its martial history and culture of the gold trade. One can reach Kumasi from Accra and other cities by air, but it is preferable to come by car, bus or rail in order to enjoy the tropical forests and picturesque villages along the way.
