A workshop in Seated Shiatsu for body work practitioners. This workshop explores some shiatsu theory and techniques in a seated position. The workshop gives a body worker a foundation in which to develop there own on-site routine. A certificate of attendance is given for CPD purposes. This is not a qualification.

Perpendicular pressure is applied to tsubo and meridians, to help harmonise the flow of Ki. In the Z...en shiatsu system, the pressure is used to identify and stimulate change in patterns of Kyo-Jitsu. Kyo, is a deficient condition where there is a lack of Ki. Jitsu, an excess condition where there is an over abundance of Ki. Kyo and Jitsu exist together, Jitsu containing the Ki originally belonging to the Kyo. Primarily, Kyo is the cause and Jitsu the symptom.Read more

Pressure is predominantly applied using palms, thumbs and fingers. Occasionally, elbows, knees and feet are used to deepen the pressure. Other techniques include stretching, light manipulation, the application of magnets and the application of heat using moxa (a smouldering herb which is used to warm tsubo).
