Hugh Sawyer - Ditch Monkey, Writer, Enviro-mentalist has rebuilt his bed, hopefully with less lumps this time. Currently using a duvet as my sleeping bag is beyond repair and I don't know why I didn't use it before.

I shall sleep with the window open tonight, as a gesture of solidarity. You need to burrow into the mulch for warmth, Hugh.

Hugh Sawyer - Ditch Monkey, Writer, Enviro-mentalist took the roof down and used the sticks to make a flat and rather comfortable bed which is very nice but he did get wet in the thunder storm.

Some berries can attack the liver and the results are a slow poisoning - do be very careful on what you strip down and eat berry wise.

I trust you know 100% what your eating?

"Any wolves in this forest?" said the tourist. "Nah mate, the bears ate them all" says the local with a smile.

the design is all in my head, I just need to find the right bits of wood, build it, realise the fatal flaw, tear it down, rebuild it, repeat.

I'm keeping an eye out but will keep working with what I have as it is the best there is on offer at the moment. With a bit of work it should be fine.

utilise the big rock as one wall. Build a sturdy roof out of sticks, the basha, and loads of spruce bows. Make more walls out of sticks and birch bark, not too worried about walls as there will be plenty of snow to use as insultion. Just really need a roof that is strong enough not to collapse.

Hugh Sawyer - Ditch Monkey, Writer, Enviro-mentalist gave up on trying to sleep in the "shelter" last night and slept out under the stars instead, much more comfortable.
