Good afternoon all, as well most of you who read the blog regularly will know, we like to post something towards the end of the day on Friday that’s just for laughs because, let’s face it, there are days when the last couple of hours on a Friday just drags on forever.

Dell has revealed some of the more interesting details of its upcoming Adamo XPS, which looks to be its own entry into the “ultrathin” category that Microsoft seems to think is going to oust netbooks and become the next big thing.

With the recent shakeup in the games console market, it seems that long-time faithful Xbox 360 owners are moving over into Sony’s side of the market, picking up the new PlayStation 3 Slim.

Reports earlier in the week that Apple had made moves to cull support for Intel’s Atom line of netbook processors, some felt in an attempt to kill off the rampant “hackintoshing” of netbooks like Dell’s Mini 10.

Apple has been making some strange decisions when it comes to what it approves to the App Store this week, now having approved a wireless key generator that allows the device to break into Eircom wi-fi access points.
Komplett.ie Windows 7's UAC, which we'd been told helped make it the secure OS it is, turns out not to be particularly good at securing the OS against malware, sadly.

Windows 7’s much vaunted User Account Control seems not to provide quite the bump in security that Microsoft intended it to, with recent tests showing that it’s quite a bit less impressive than they might have hoped.

Google has launched a new service called Google Dashboard, which allows users to see all of the data that Google has accrued from its various services about your various habits.

The European Parliament is currently weighing up a telecoms reform package that would see users accused of filesharing by ISPs treated a little more fairly than the current situation, which is a little vague.

Initial sales of Microsoft’s newest OS, Windows 7, have put the sales of Windows Vista to absolute shame, outperforming it by around the 234% mark, which is fairly genuinely impressive.

Google has released a new beta version of its Chrome web browser, bringing the beta to Chrome 4.0.223.16, that manages to perform nearly a third more quickly than the current mainstream release.
