September changes to Texas Seat Belt laws:
If you transport a child who is younger than eight (used to be five) years of age, unless the child is taller than four feet, nine inches, you must keep the child secured in a child passenger safety seat system.
If you transport a child younger than 17 and who is not required to... use a child passenger safety seat system, the child must use a seat belt.
If you are at least 15 years of age you commit an offense if you are not wearing a seat belt. The law now applies to both back and frot seat.
These rules are not yet reflected in the handbook, but in our tests!
