MajorPlayers... Not convinced some of these shots from the Halloween party aren't photoshopped. Don't remember doing a lot of those things. Great fun tho!

MajorPlayers... is it just us or is the prospect of a postal strike about as threatening as Elmo from Sesame Street?

When you bear in mind the volume of mail that could get seriously delayed or lost, in this and subsequent planned strikes, then yes this is something to worry about. We still have to send our invoices through the post after all.

@Tadiwa...Absolutely hands down the worst EVER. I'm with you on that one. The premise is ridiculous and the dialogue is cringe-worthy...Can you even imagine the pitch meeting for that one? Love to see the storyboards!

@James Pearson...So agreed with you on that one. Seems like preaching to the converted. It's not like I'm gonna be surprised to see Kelloggs all over the flakes, coz you know...it's already on the box! Unless there's a rash of supermarkets switching the bags into other boxes, this seems completely unnecessary. Although I guess it has got us talking, so it's a good bit of PR, albeit PR that makes them look a bit silly.

Whilst this article initially appears lighthearted, lasering flakes does present opportunities worth exploiting.

Packaging is easy to fake. If you are eating flakes lasered with a capital K, at least you can be assured you are eating the genuine article, and not a Chinese produced counterfeit laced with weedkiller. As a former PR for a national ... Read moreretailer, explaining to a group of customers why their Kellogs box contains fake flakes is a conversation I would wish to avoid, knowing that Trading Standards will be next in line with national media following closely behind. I'll let you think through the crisis PR planning for that one.

As for supermarket own brands and other generic cornflakes, lasering a flake enables Kellogs to differentiate themselves as the true original and add value. Lasered images could include anything from best before dates, to pictographs linking the brand to marketing campaigns involving major events and seasonal dates eg: 5 rings for the Olympics, love hearts for St. Valentine's Day, brand anniversary years or Willy Wonka Golden prize draw flakes etc.
