Southwark Playhouse's company-in-residence, the award-winning theatre ensemble tangled feet, invite you into an underground vault to exper...ience HOME.
“By turns sinister, sweet, playful and almost spiritual.” London theatre blog
“a glimpse of magic” Lyn Gardner, Theatre Pick of the Week, The Guardian.
Whether home is a mansion or a shack, we all strive to protect the place of safety we've created. Using their trademark blend of physicality, image, atmosphere, music and narrative, Tangled Feet explore where the edge of “home” is.
HOME is a unique piece of site-responsive theatre from one of the most exciting theatre ensembles in the UK. A nomadic touring piece, adaptable to the most unusual public spaces, HOME is like a camper; it arrives in any place, unpacks, tells a story, packs up again and leaves. Originally scratched at Southwark Playhouse, HOME returns to the atmospheric vaults behind the theatre following a summer touring festivals, woods, shopping centres and parks all over the UK.
HOME features an original score by Guy Connelly of the much-lauded Clock Opera.
“Clock Opera are the very reason you should always keep your ear painfully close to the ground for the talent brewing beneath.” Clash Magazine
All ages welcome.

A young prince has murdered his mother in a bloody act of revenge. The curse of the Royal House of Argos is raging, the cycle of revenge continues…
A raucous mob of rebels have been rejected and discarded by the new regime. They unify and go into hiding underground – with Prince Orestes as their hostage. Now their time... has come to take action - to take justice into their hands - to be heard.
You decide. You become the jury and determine Orestes’ fate.
‘Orestes: Re-Examined’ forms the final part of Aeschylus’ classic tragic Oresteian trilogy. This radical re-framing fuses ritual movement, live original music and poetic text with a thumping drum and bass underscore, against a dark, haunting and desperate backdrop.
Following an acclaimed run in 2008 in Bath, and a tour of prisons in the South West, this revival production promises an immersive audience experience, which will stimulate, challenge and thrill.
“Emma Gersch’s direction is strikingly poetic and moving”
Venue magazine on ‘Heresies’ at the Bristol Old Vic
