In recent weeks Walthamstow has been in the news for a spate of attacks against women, including the horrific murder of Michelle Samaraweera. In response to this, a group of local residents has organised a “reclaim the night” march. This is an event will involve giving advice and information to women on how to keep saf...e, and some time to remember the victims of these crimes. Please show your support for this initiative by joining the marchers in reclaiming Walthamstow's streets for the benefit of every local resident.

I've put the link up - I used to work in the media as well so I know its hard to break the habit but not everything that involves people who are members of a political party is a conspiracy! Sometimes, people can simply be passionate about their politics and passionate about a place too.....anyone with any othe...r links should let me know.
I'd also be interested in any other examples of local history or facts about Walthamstow to share- I've been working on a version of the six degrees game where you can find the connection to walthamstow....I've put some of the suggestions up on the discussion board and if anyone has any others please do chip in!
