BBC Radio Manchester just won another award. This time in the BBC Local Radio Gillard Awards. The category was Promotional Campaign and was for the launch of Beswick at Breakfast - a series of un-trails in which Beswick 'interrupted' songs in other people's shows to promote his move to the new show.

BBC Radio Manchester It was a brave thing to do. But why did he do it? Cllr Paul Fairweather came out as HIV +ve at the Manchester Pride Vigil on Monday night. And this morning at 0820 he's talking to Allan Beswick.

A councillor in Manchester revealed he was HIV positive during a vigil remembering those who have lost their lives after contracting the virus.
