---------------------

Rogue Artists’ Studios are pleased to announce their forthcoming annual Open Studios Weekend and coinciding Project Space exhibition, celebrating the first anniversary of the new floor of... studios and Project Space.

Rogue now houses sixty artists over two floors of studios and includes a Project Space, which is used for residency and exchange projects, alongside a programme of temporary exhibitions and events. As one of the largest independent artists’ studio groups operating in the North West, the Open Studios Weekend offers the public direct access to a wide range of art, with the opportunity to talk to artists about their work and to buy original works directly from them at a range of prices. The artists range from recent graduates to established practitioners and work in a wide range of disciplines and media; including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textile design, installation, video, interactive art and illustration.

Coinciding with the Open Studios, Rogue Project Space will launch an exchange exhibition 'All Change', in collaboration with The Royal Standard (Liverpool, UK), featuring artists Mike Carney, Jemma Egan, Stephen Forge, Andy Foulds, Laurence Payot, Richard Proffitt, Laura Robertson and Gabriel Stones.

Linked by their industrial history and divided by their football allegiances, the contentious relationship between Manchester and Liverpool remains as lively as ever. And while art and culture thrives in both locations, artists from the two cities rarely collaborate. For 'All Change', Rogue studio members Karen Gaskill and Hilary Jack have initiated a process that attempts to bridge this creative divide in the form of an exchange between the two studio groups, The Royal Standard in Liverpool, and Rogue, Manchester.

Gaskill and Jack have selected eight artists from The Royal Standard to exhibit in Rogue Project Space, and the Directors of The Royal Standard have in turn selected artists from Rogue Studios to exhibit in their Project Space. These selections are representative of artists working in both studio groups, and it is hoped that by integrating the creative communities in 'All Change', a new cross-regional dialogue will emerge and lead to future collaborations.

Rogue looks forward to welcoming you at the Open Studios Weekend and Project Space exhibition. Please join us for drinks on the evening of Saturday 13th June to celebrate the studios success and the achievements of our artists during the past year.

Hi, I am looking for a studio space, to create an installation, initially for one funded project but also as a permanent space. I know Sue Fox well (about twenty years!) and have spoken to you're counterpart but I hear there's nothing going right now. My contact is katy.coyote@gmail.com,also on facebook as Katy Cox. My... work is visual arts, mixed media, is ritualistic and sometimes provoctaive, currently awaiting funding from the Wellcome Trust. i use sound and writing as well as flowers, found objects and sometimes performance.Read more
