We greatly value the prayers of our friends for the ministry of Matthias Media. In the next week, we would particularly appreciate you praying for our US conference (http://peoplegrowth.org) which takes place next week (14-16 Oct). Please ask our Heavenly Father pray for:
- safety for all delegat...es and speakers as they travel to and from the conference, including speakers Phillip Jensen and Tony Payne who are traveling many miles (maybe pray even more for Tony who is flying United Airlines!)
- faithful proclamation of God's word and helpful ideas for ministry shared by the speakers: Don Carson, Mark Dever, Phillip Jensen, Tony Payne, Dave Helm and Marty Sweeney
- encouraging fellowship for all the delegates

The whole thing came about through a request from Anglican Retirement Villages here in Sydney. As part of Connect09, they have bought 7,500 copies of it to dist...ribute through their communities. Please pray that the Lord will use these books, and the efforts of Rev David Tyndall and his Chaplaincy team at ARV, to bring many older folk into the Kingdom of God.
The side benefit is that we now have this new resource that may help all of us to be able to share the gospel/Gospel with older folk or those with vision impairment.Read more

A team from Evangelism Ministries and St Hilda's Anglican Church Katoomba headed to the Solomon Islands in partnership with the Anglican Church of Melanesia to run a conference on Evangelism for both clergy and laypeople. Over 150 people attended. As part of the conference, we gave every attendee John Chapman's "Know... and Tell the Gospel". They loved it! The day before we left we headed out to the Anglican Theological College and gave one to each student. Their eyes almost popped out of their heads when the realised we weren't giving them one to share, one for the library, or one to photocopy, but one for each of them to own and cherish. The book was very well received - not only a great summary of Jesus as Lord and Saviour, but it is also very helpful in teaching how to feed new Christians. (Mike Doyle)Read more
