Nick Griffin does not speak for Christians Apparently the letter I posted was not officially from the BNP just a group supportive of them.. so have taken it down - still there are people out there who argue the BNP is the only party christians should vote for. I beg you to differ.

Who is seriously contending that Christians should vote for a racist, Jew-hating political party? Have they forgotten Jesus was Jewish? Of course, the church stood aside in the 1930s in Germany, so perhaps we should not be surprised.

When I saw a UKIP representative standing outside my local Sainsbury's (we live in a very multi-cultured area) and not offer a single leaflet to or strike up a single conversation with anyone who wasn't white (and I stood watching for 10 minutes so he had plenty of chances) I realised (if I'd doubted it before - not exactly at my end of the political spectrum...) that UKIP were probably ever bit as racist as the BNP but maybe a little more polite and "middle class" about it....

Nick Griffin does not speak for Christians Please pray for the Copenhagen summit on climate change - Nick Griffin as a member of the european parliament is a climate change denier (not to mention holocaust denier) and is speaking as an elected representative.

Charlie - yes, I know about the ice cap. Like I said, you can find tons of evidence that human activity is causing climate change. The problem is that, if you actually look, you can also find tons of evidence that climate change is happening *anyway*, and that the human factor is negligible. In other words, we don't actually know enough yet - but ... See Morepoliticians like to keep things simple, and so they couch the debate in simplistic terms that convince lots of people very quickly. Personally, I think that **whether the human factor in climate change is, or is not, significant**, we should be good stewards of God's resources by reducing pollution and waste, and by moving towards a steady-state economy. This has undesirable consequences, to be sure, but not as undesirable as the alternative! We were given the earth not to plunder, but to nurture.

Richard and Pat, thanks so much for your thoughful responses. Like many of us I find evangelising about what I believe to be desperately important rather more difficult than I should! If just a few of the climate change theories have substance (even if their detail is incalculable with the incomplete understanding we have) the human suffering is ... See Moregoing to be truly horrible - and it will fall first on those who are poverty stricken, vulnerable to extreme weather already and far from us in our safe(ish) sphere.
It's also difficult in our rather secular society - people always want 'science' to have all the answers that really (I think) belong with God; 'science' cannot and never will give complete revelation, it's based on testing what we don't know. It really does frighten me and I've examined enough evidence for my own perspective to be pretty clear to me, but there's no reason why you should believe the assertions of a random lady on fb! Wishing you the best.

I agree with you Alan and Andrew here -not all christians are pro-Israel and even if some christians are pro-israel that should not be a reason to vote for racists.

I don't think everyone in the Christian Community are informed that Talmudic Jews are VERY different to Torah only Jews! The Babylonian Talmud is not the same. I was totally unaware of this, even after bing in a Church for a few years, as a young Christian, that supported the Israeli Occupation of Gaza.

I will admit, there are a lot of right down nasty idiots around when you start looking into this though, just ignore any plainly racist rhetoric that doesn't differentiate between the two types of Jews in the World today, though the Torah only ones are very few in number these days.

That's not to say though that I think Israel will fall, bible prophecy is clear on this issue. But it doesn't mean we should be in support of ANY Government that kills or allows killing, on EITHER side.... See More

And don't anyone quote Roamns and "submitting to the authorities", because it is clear that it refeers to Kings and Queens, dictatorships and the governments that existed in those days. Not governments we supposedly "choose" ourselves.

Yes it is easy to judge, but to pray for someone so misguided and with such repulsive ideas is really hard, but it is what Jesus would want us to do.

I agree, whether we like him or not God created Nick Griffin and loved him so much and died for him. Lets pray that he begins to understand that unconditional love.

We can't accuse him of treating others like lesser human beings, and then we do the same to him. We shouldn't accept his detestable racist views or like anything he does, but God loves him and so should we.
