One Party State
Sweeping all before it, with a strident “Work Hard! Play Hard!” ethos, club night One Party State is already one year into the implementation of its five year plan... to provide the best night out for London’s downtrodden workers, at Camden’s Barfly. And it’s paying off – the venue has been packed each time!
Under threa...t of exile to the musical gulag, the DJs on both floors have been ordered to play their best possible sets by our Musical Commissars. There’ll also be Party Operatives moving through the venue to check that people are enjoying themselves.
Farm hands and factory workers (and their modern, office-based equivalents) are all invited... The clubbing Bourgeoisie and their lackeys are not! We are vehemently anti-socialite!
UPSTAIRS, prepare for Revolutionary Modern Guitar Music For A Utopian Future from resident DJ Ed Wilder (Club NME) and guest DJs:
Marvel (live) - this band first came to our attention at camden crawl where they won over a typically despondent london crowd within a few songs of their dance rock. we wouldn't say we were fans of bands like Enter Shikari but Marvel do share some of their metal riffing except they do it better and with more ravey synths of which tour dates review of their camden crawl show noted "screechy synths, acidic samples, and almost metal-like riffage, and if you think this mixture is an attempt to cram as many hot-on-the-scene elements into your music as possible, then you would be wrong. The different influences complement each other perfectly" praise indeed.
DJ John Downfall (INTERNATIONAL HI FI) - resident at international hi-fi and cheapskates, the weekly indie credit-crunching night, he knows how to make bodies spasm and cavort to his indie/electro sets - although tonight he'll be playing a more guitar-based set of new, hot tunes. As an aside, check out his top Alan Braxe-style remix work - it's beautiful stuff.
DJ Ed Wilder (Club NME) - A man with a vision, ed has played at the top of the bt tower and to massive crowds at v2008. He's also the regular DJ at Corrupt's cutting-edge live nights at Barfly and also plays at Club NME at Koko
DOWNSTAIRS, get stuck into Decadent Electro ‘n’ Eclectic Sounds from New Wave to New Rave from East London agitators and resident DJs..
Campari Safari (One Party State / Meat Market ) - this crack team of party starters count Secret Garden Party festival as a fixture and Italian hot spot Urban In Perugia The djs in the team are selected for their ability to craft fantastical journeys through dance music taking in disco to acid house to electro of the old and new with some pop gems. Founder Rob Campari Safari has a residency with Meat Market a night not too dissimilar to OPS in the beautiful city of Vienna. Tonight he returns for rare date
Depth Of The Titans (Tape_Club IT) -This is the dj name of two of italys most forward thinking promoters The beautiful Megan and the handsome Francessco they have booked everyone from Metronomy , Ipso Facto to Autokratz to The Golden Bug, Inflagranti to home grown italo electro superstar Alexander Robotnik who hails from their home town of Florence - not ones for gazing up at frescoes they look to the stars of electro Indie and disco and Campari Safari Djs were lucky enough to DJ at their recent event with whitechapel's own The Rakes who played a storming live set that saw an indie circle pit !
Snitch DJs ( Time Out On The Up/) - Another set from our bi monthly residents they just keep going from strength to strength with a new bi weekly at hoxton bar and kitchen - when they arnt rocking warehouses or the hordes of essex boys and girls they are throwing down a proper set for One Party State! we are honured to have played a small part in their rise to electro stardom Read more

THERE IS ONLY ONE PARTY. OURS.
SAT 24 OCT – LR Rockets (live) + Steve Harris (Xfm) + Jeff Automatic (Transmission) + Emma Harkness (Froot) + Campari Safari DJs + Ed Wilder
SAT 14 NOV – The VIPs (live) + Mikey Four (Club NME) + The Lovely Jonjo (Durrr) + Campari Safari DJs + Ed Wilder
We’re still reeling from the second of our series of 1st Birthday parties where we saw the Barfly completely rammed with celebratory members of the Proletariat and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs inflame the dance-floor with their own brand of electro fun party tunes. Now we present another Central Committee-ordained Saturday night line up...
Sweeping all before it, with a strident “Work Hard! Play Hard!” ethos, new club night One Party State gets ready for its next event and continues the implementation of its five year plan... to provide the best night out for London’s downtrodden workers, at Camden’s Barfly.

UPSTAIRS, prepare for Revolutionary Modern Guitar Music For A Utopian Future from resident DJ Ed Wilder (Corrupt) and guest DJ:
SAT 24 OCT: Steve Harris (Xfm) - he's king of the 7 'til 10 slot on xfm, playing both popular and bubbling-under new tunes to the london listening public. he recently tore up the dancefloor at international hi-fi and now he’s ready to hit camden...
SAT 24 OCT: LR Rockets - LIVE – we’ve loved this band from afar for a long time because of their jerky, frenetic, shouty indie pop, combined with angst and melody. They sing about denial, financial ruin, bad love and dual personalities – can’t think why we like them so much... In their influences we hear buzzcocks, wire and a hint of synthy electro. “the noise of The Music being eaten by Late Of The Pier at their most teeth-rattlingly flat-out. Dance? Our legs fell off!” said The Fly.
DOWNSTAIRS, get stuck into Decadent Electro ‘n’ Eclectic Sounds from New Wave to New Rave from residents Campari Safari DJs This week its Sammy D hosting plus guests:
SAT 24 OCT: Emma Harkness (Froot / Secret Garden Party) - Emma runs Cambridge’s hugely popular electro night Froot and is also partially responsible for making Secret Garden Party festival a beautiful, exciting place to be every summer. Her set consists of the most upfront indie/electro remixes and more. Its going to be HOT HOT HOT!
SAT 24 OCT: Jeff Automatic (Transmission / Club NME) - one of three residents at Koko’s massive Club NME, Jeff also takes his Transmission night around Europe, to places including Barcelona’s massive Razzmatazz and this year’s Benicassim Festival. Recently, he and fellow OPS resident Mikey Four played to thousands of screaming youth on Reading Festival’s Dance Stage – the crowd were climbing up the tent and swinging off cables!

One Party State
one party state:
there is only one party. ours.
sweeping all before it, with a strident “work hard! play hard!” ethos, new club night one party state continues the implementation of its five year plan... to provide the best night out for london’s downtrodden workers.
upstairs:
revolutionary, modern guitar music for a utop...ian future
truly beautiful disaster (live @ 11.30)
truly excellent electro rock bastard mash-up synth loveliness abounds! imagine a carnival curated by stanley kubrick and you're getting close. the brute force of pendulum these guys certainly aren't - their mix of bourne-esque urgency and daft punk-inspired sophistication makes that abundantly clear. "expect tbd to be setting clubs alight" said the fly. "there'll be masked balls the length of shoreditch by christmas, mark our words" enthused nme.
jeff automatic (club nme / transmission)
resident ed wilder is away at v2009 this weekend, so jeff has stepped into the breach... one of three resident djs at london’s insanely popular club nme @ koko, he plays cutting-edge guitar tracks to an eager crowd between live sets by the buzz bands of the moment. on nights away from there, he can be found at razzmatazz and transmission, not to mention dj trips to clubs in madrid, munich, berlin, barcelona and beyond...
ed wilder (corrupt / v2008)
a man with a vision, ed has played at the top of the bt tower and to massive crowds at v2008. he's also the regular dj at corrupt's cutting-edge live nights at barfly.
downstairs:
decadent electro 'n' eclectic sounds - new wave to new rave
sammy d (campari safari)
+ lumberjack (last fm djs)
rob campari safari is on a sabbatical this week, taking a fact-finding mission to vienna. filling in are his campari safari collaborator sammy d & last fm's own lumber jack. given who they each work for, this freestyle electro duo have their finger on the musical pulse for sure.
firas (filthy few)
firas runs the brilliant filthy few records; we love the podcast, the dj sets and the label as they put out a record by our faves portasound. he's also got a show on nme radio, which he somehow fits in with his burgeoning remix work for the likes of white lies. come hear his set of electro bangers and discover for yourself the reason why he's shared stages across the world with erol alkan to autokratz to boys noize...

perfect people (live @ 11.30)
Little pop princes Perfect People rose from the ashes of the Clik Clik. they write infectious, heartfelt electro pop monster tunes and are here to entertain the "lovers of a great pop song" claimed Dirty Boots club. "This polished four piece write electro infused anthems" enthused The Great Escape Festival.

campari safari djs
rob campari has been djing for over two years in many of the coolest places in london and, formerly, bristol - booking the best up and coming bands around and supporting new talent.
russ chimes (valerie project, france)
In a sea of postmodern hipsters cum bedroom producers there exists, floating on a sparkling lilo of talent, a man from the UK who knows what makes a part. Although he comes from London, he also heads up the British wing of French west coast retro-futuristic collective Valerie and blends some seriously catchy 80s synth hooks with some really impressive layering and lush composition, all topped with a groove that can keep you dancing until the sun comes up over the beach-front palm trees.
With significant blog attention for his own tracks, stellar remixes for the likes of Sam Sparro, Chromeo, The Golden Filter and The Outrunners, numerous shows around the world and an Australian tour under his belt, Russ is definitely one to watch this year. like Grum and Futurecop!, who we also spotted early and booked for one party state, russ plays the 80s-influenced electro stuff that the kids (including us!) love.

resident ed wilder is away at v2009 this weekend, so jeff has stepped into the breach... one of three resident djs at london’s insanely popular club nme @ koko, he plays cutting-edge guitar tracks to an eager crowd between live sets by the buzz bands of the moment. on nights away from there, he can be found at razzmatazz and transmission, not to mention dj trips to clubs in madrid, munich, berlin, barcelona and beyond...

campari safari djs
rob campari has been djing for over two years in many of the coolest places in london and, formerly, bristol - booking the best up and coming bands around and supporting new talent.
russ chimes (valerie project, france)
