Robert Pearson

Robert Pearson Why do I need to pay $40 to "upgrade" Parallels, when I can buy Fusion for the same price? When I upgraded from v3 to v4 (1 week after purchase), it took 2 weeks to straighten out, and I had nothing but problems with the minor updates, because of the key. /mad that I keep getting last chance $40 "upgrade" offers, eve...n though I opted out of email notifications 4 times.

Dave Chad Maury -> I'm having the same troubles with Windows XP. Resuming from suspend on Parallels 5 seems to take forever. In this case IE seems to constantly hang. A reboot of Windows XP always seems to fix this.

Darwin Stearns

Darwin Stearns I love Parallels Desktop! Unfortunately I purchased v4 on the 15th of September - so I missed being eligible for the free upgrade to v5 by sixteen days. Couldn't you guys come up with an upgrade deal for people who just missed the cutoff point that doesn't require us to fork over 2/3 of the full version retail price? Please? Pretty please?

Maury Hill Can anyone point me to tips/tricks for fine tuning Parallels? I have 5.0 and am VMng XP. I suspend it but the startup takes forever. Same with Windows 7. I only run in Crystal mode.

Michael Witt Sullivan

Michael Witt Sullivan I
upgraded to Fusion 3. It was sluggish. I am trying a demo of Parallels
5. Did the Windows 7 Experience test on both. Exact same scenario.
Adding up all the numbers Fusion 3 scored 24.6, Parallels scored 26.7,
a 8.5% higher number. I think I may stick with Parallels. It just feels
snappier.

Portuguese am going to remove bootcamp & install Parallels 5 on my lap top & want to install it on a new imac. Can you buy a multiple copy license or need to buy it twice?

Greg

Greg Run Macs since 1986. Big supporter for P-Desktop 3 and 4. **Very Bad** experience upgrading to V5 on my Quad Core Tower under Leo. Nova Development web support opaque and impossible to access when an upgrade does not *take* because the mythical Support Code can not be found. At that point NO ONE at Nova will help you with a crashed V5 so no Windoze on this Mac.
