*FREE NU-DISCO CD!! Mixed by Cam Robertson*

Like fashion, in music the best trends and phenomena often come back around. When disco was born over thirty years ago it sowed the seeds of what we now know as dance music culture. Clubbing, dancing all night, DJ culture, funky shoes... Now in 2009 in clubland the term disco is getting bandied around again, often with the dreaded 'nu' prefix, which evokes that terrible phase in music lead by Limp Bizkit they called nu-metal. Fear not, Fred Durst is not involved in the resurgence of disco. Rather artists like Belgian duo Aeroplane, Australian youngster Shazam, New York's Holy Ghost and labels like DFA and Kitsune are responsible for lowering of BPMs, spacey production, and emotive vocals characterising the new disco of today. And this sound has got the indie kids dancing as well. Tiring of strident men in garage rock bands, the tight-jeaned, flannel wearers of the last couple of years have turned to electronic music again. REMIX has selected some of the hottest tunes around, representing this exciting new indie dance/nu disco sound on the big dancefloors of today. Enjoy!
