THE COPENHAGEN CONFERENCE ON FOOD SECURITY http://www.earthpolicy.org/index.php?/plan_b_updates/2009/update84By Lester R. Brown For the 193 national delegations gathering in Copenhagen for the U.N. Climate Change Conference in December, the reasons for concern about climate change vary widely...

Sidewiki strikes me as quite a negative tool. All it will end up being used for is a way for trolls to destroy the credibility of peoples websites, whether they deserve it or not. I wouldn't want someone to come to my house or to a building I ran my buisness from and scrawl graffiti all over the walls!

Rupert Read http://bit.ly/1CpCYM Promising stuff. But 'green development' / 'green growth' are still nonsense. Non-sequiturs. We don't _need_ more growth.

The MPs expenses scandal is all about economic inequality. It would never have happened if MPs hadn't been trying to 'earn' as much as others such as headmasters, managers, etc. For narrowly political reasons, MPs were reluctant to award themselves salary increases...

Rupert Read Which was the only political Party to oppose going INTO the Afghanistan quagmire in the first place? The Greens, of course!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8344176.stm If only Wise had had the grace to admit that he is an expenses fraudster a few months back, I surely would have been elected Green MEP for Eastern England, in June. As it is, the b**tard's having held out for 4 years (4 years!) before admitting guilt has meant that once ag...ain UKIP have 2 MEPs in Eastern England, managing to hold onto a second MEP by narrowly defeating me. That's politics, Rupert. No-one ever said that it made any sense.

Truly the blame lies with the voters. It was well known he was a fraudster, and UKIP kicked him out of their party. The people of Eastern Region still voted for that kind of scum over the Green Party.

One can only hope. Although it will cause a leadership fracas within UKIP, as I suspect Hannan will want to be a big fish in a small pond.

It's a great list, but there isn't a coherent, simple ideology or framework that incorporates all of these different ideas. People won't believe there is an alternative to capitalist economics until we can show them a viable set of models that all fit together and answer all of the questions they might have about "how do we get there?" and "what about this or that". The main thing is, how do we lift people out of poverty? Good work, Dr Read!

There is a coherent ideology for all this. It's called ecologism. See Dobson's book, GREEN POLITICAL THOUGHT.
