STAR Radio's Breakfast Presenter Ian Downs – or Downsy to his friends and fans – is leaving Weston’s airwaves.
The 30-year-old, who STAR Radio listeners across the town have been waking up to since September 2005, has announced on air this morning (Thurs) he is off to pastures new.
Downsy said: “After 12 years of doing b...reakfast shows across the country and getting up at 4am I want a lie in ! “Well that and I have plans to have a break and do some travelling.
“I’ve loved my time at STAR and feel very proud of all the good things we’ve done for both individuals and charities.
“I’m going to miss all my regular callers, the banter and of course the fantastic team we have here, but there’s no doubt I’ll be leaving the radio station in safe hands.” Downsy’s last show is on Thursday 20th March and Star Radio is now on the hunt for a new breakfast presenter as well as its new charity of the year for 2008/9.
