Siân Berry Tony Juniper - former Friends of the Earth chief - wants boiler scrappage too. "Everyone should sign the petition to back it"

Hundreds of people who support the plumbing and building industries, as well as green campaigners and householders, have already signed the petition for a Boiler Scrappage scheme.

Siân Berry New blog post - signing up against Form 696

Source: sianberry.org.uk
This week I've signed a joint letter to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, along with a variety of other campaigners, politicians and musicians, against Form 696 - the Met's questionnaire for gig promotors, which is exacerbating institutional racism against musicians and music fans.

Siân Berry Please sign the boiler scrappage petition from my new best mate, Mick the plumbers' merchant.

So many good reasons but if you're a green, the carbon and fuel savings are pretty decisive, not to mention supporting small businesses and real British manufacturing.

Sign today and make me happy!

By replacing just some of the 4.5 million boilers that are less than 70% efficient, we could save thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.

Siân Berry Some hard-hitting reasons to vote for Rupert and Jason for Green Party External Comms now up on their blog site (mine not so hard hitting, but still good reasons). You can leave comments or ask questions on the site too.

Siân Berry Oh no, it's the final day of the appeal - only 211 donations still needed for our North West Stop Nick Griffin ad campaign to go ahead: http://is.gd/Aapm

Some major outlets are letting them claim they are less extreme than they really are, without challenging their claims or making clear their spokesmen's criminal convictions and record of racism.

Siân Berry That handbag was a massive bother. Basically, because the first four candidates had agreed to walk off the stage right after my speech (so as to not stand around politely for the BNP) I couldn't leave the bag at the back. I shouldn't have taken it up on stage at all, of course, but forgot to hand it to my agent beforehand and was stuck with it.

Next time, I'll get my props sorted :)

Last week I attended a brilliant protest by the London Citizens coalition against low pay at the Tate Modern. Many at the Tate only earn the minimum wage of £5.52 an hour, even though the GLA has calculated that a basic living wage in London is £7.20.

As Mayor, I'd make sure everyone employed by the GLA was paid the Lo...ndon Living Wage, and campaign to get all London employers to match it - including naming and shaming companies like the Tate.
