Belated congratulations to Centre Forum, and in particular Giles Wilkes, for winning Prospect Magazines’ Think Tank Publication of the Year Award for A Balancing Act: Fair Solutions to the Modern Debt Crisis. Interesting. Given that the Orange bookers now control the Liberals and a resurgent Tory party expected to win the next election, I wonder how many Labour-SDP-LD members will find themselves moving in the opposite direction...

I would certainly accept that the article suggests that Labour's sense of priorities is dictated to by its relationship with the unions and that it is very wrong in this case. And I would certainly admit to believing that the existing disfunctional relationship between Labour and the Trade Union movement is no longer fit for purpose.

But the suggestion that makes me hostile to trade unions is entirely wrong.
