Maybe if Bono would actually pay tax here in Ireland on his massive earnings rather than evading it we could take his posturing a bit more seriously...

Fiona at 13:30 on 04 July
Bono uses his fame for good. He also give a lot of his earning to charity. He's a celebrity - but I think he manages to keep the balance between the show off rockstar, clever philanthropist and humanitarian. Good on him. I'll have my mask on at Hampden Park in August.

Song for Aung San Suu Kyi
See the river running
Through the heart of a golden land
I can see the river changing
Just dont understand.
Lifeblood of a nation
Now the river is flowing red
Water is running tears
In the river of the dead.
Like a river, your spirit flows
Like a river, your courage grows
Like a river, you are strong
Like a river, you stand alone.
Dying for peace and freedom
Dying for a dream
Blood washed from city walls
Flowing in the stream.
With every drop that's flowing
With every tear that's shed
Current of resistance grows
In the river of the dead.

Why doesn't BKM threaten to expel China, India and Thailand from the UN then?! If only these three countries made a REAL EFFORT Than Shwe and his junta could be brought to their knees (and perhaps even the negotiating table) very quickly.

Bruce at 11:27 on 03 July
@Chris B: Thank you Chris..perhaps if more pressure was put on the ASEAN countries, TOTAL & Chevron.. what would the outcome be. Surely more asian countries are regading this 'Imprisonment' as utter nonsense? Or is it the gas pipe line that runs from Burma to China? Millions are pouring into the pockets of the Generals! It has been for so long..too long!
By removing the assets from the Generals, applying pressure on these oil companies etc. wouldn't that have more effect on the junta?
