- Our very own Richard Phillips has been confirmed as the star judge of the Kent Young Chef Award 2009.
The competition, brought to you by Produced in Kent, invites all secondary students (year groups 7 to 11) who either live or go to school in Kent to create an original main dish recipe using seasonal autumnal ingredi...ents that are grown locally in Kent.
Those who progress through the initial stages will find themselves cooking in front of Richard in the live final at the prestigious catering school, Thanet College, on Friday 27 November – no pressure then!
He’s looking for someone from Kent to follow his footsteps with the potential to make it big in the cooking industry – tough boots to fill, but he believes someone out there can do it.
