Join our rangers for woodland crafts, trails, demonstrations and stalls. All are welcome and this event is free.

The Woodland Wonders event will include... a variety of traditional crafts, including charcoal making and carving walking sticks. Children can develop their survival skills by creating a whistle to call for help in emergencies and making string from natural resources.

Yipeeee Milton Keynes has been awarded ‘Best Large City’ and the highest medal rating possible, a Gold Medal, by the Royal Horticultural Society in this year’s Thames and Chiltern regional round of the Britain in Bloom competition.

In addition to the gold medal, Campbell Park received a regional award for ‘Best Park’. ...
The city’s entry was made by Milton Keynes Council, The Open University and The Parks Trust.

Only ever been to the top of Campbell Park ? Take a walk down to the ponds and canal - lovely especially for the tree colours and duck lovers.

The Parks Trust
A very rare butterfly – the Black Hairstreak – has been discovered by volunteers from The Parks Trust in Howe Park wood , where it had been feared extinct.

This small butterfly is one of the rarest in the UK being found at only 70 sites over a very small range between Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire! It is brown in colo...ur with orange/red edges, with a distinctive row of black spots on its underwings, a white streak and a small tail. It loves to live high up making it difficult to spot.

If you'd like to survey for butterflies and other wildlife contact Martin Kincaid our volunteers co-ordinator on 01908 233600
